Our services
We provide Facilitative Civil and Commercial Mediation whereby we facilitate negotiation between two parties in conflicting positions. We do not impose a decision or make recommendations but we do our best to encourage you to reach your own solutions by exploring the situation in detail.
Our Mediation service is offered online at a convenient time for the parties. Online Mediation is a popular method as there are no additional costs such as travel, subsistence and venue expenses which are payable by the parties in face to face Mediations.
Why mediate?
Mediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution which is voluntary, flexible and completely confidential. Benefits include:
- Conflicts can be resolved out of Court, saving Court and legal fees
- Mediation is a voluntary process and an agreement is not forced upon any participant
- If a an agreement is reached it will be binding on both parties
- Mediation is invariably faster and cheaper than going to Court
- The Mediation process is completely confidential
- The Mediator listens and guides both parties and is neutral and impartial throughout the process
- The process can include open sessions with all parties and private sessions when required
- Parties are encouraged to communicate effectively and constructively
- Unlike a Court case, Mediation is not a matter of winning or losing. Each party should benefit to their satisfaction if an agreement is reached
- It is often the case that commercial relationships continue after an agreed settlement
We participate in the Civil Mediation Council's Fixed Fee Scheme
In order to give parties to a dispute of a value under £50,000 the option to employ a mediator at a reasonable rate, we are signed up to a Fixed Fee Mediation Scheme. The fees for this service are set out below. We offer these sessions by telephone/video. Both parties will need to agree to mediate and it is helpful to have agreed on this before you book a session.
Amount being claimed £5,000 or less:
Fees per party £75 +VAT per hour or £125 + VAT for 2 hours
Amount being claimed £5,000 - £15,000:
Fees per party £320 + VAT for 3 hours
Amount being claimed £15,000 - £50, 000
Fees per party £445 + VAT for 4 hours
Each additional hour is charged at £100 + VAT per party in all cases
Disputes with a claim value of over £50,000 fall outside the CMC Fixed Fee Mediation Scheme so please contact us for a quote.
